Observations from Soy Ambassador Drew DeSutter
During the Corporate Social Responsibility Conference today, we learned that many solutions to combat malnutrition focus specifically on soy. Bridget Owen of the National Soybean Research Laboratory (NSRL) stated that, "We do not eat nutrition, we eat food." Many of the nutritional solutions are benefited by using the "powerful little bean."
Organizations like ISA help create ideas and implement solutions for a hungry world. Our own Pat Dumoulin, ISA director from Hampshire, recognized soybean farmer directors who are making a difference. Pat stated that these farmers not only grow food for American families, but play a very important role in ending global hunger.
The 150 individuals from various groups, organizations and NGOs (non-governmental organizations) attending the conference were able to obtain a better understanding of the problems of malnutrition and working together to find a solution. The Soy Ambassadors were able to enjoy the learning experience, while seeing how ISA can make a difference.
