Observations from Soy Ambassador Nick Wurl

The Illinois Soybean Association Soy Ambassadors met at Willard Airport in Champaign today at 8:00 a.m. to embark on a journey that is bound to give us insight into the incorporation of soy into the diets of children in developing nations.  Upon arrival at the airport, there were several times that it looked like we’d be delayed for a very long time (some reports of 230 minute delays were coming from O’Hare Airport in Chicago where we were to catch a connecting flight.)  Ultimately, we made a moderately timely departure and found ourselves at O’Hare in plenty of time to catch a connecting flight to Miami International Airport.

Stepping off the plane, it was easy to recognize something was different: it is almost 80 degrees here!  After a somewhat short layover, we were off to Guatemala City.  After an uneventful flight, we arrived at about 8:20 p.m. local time (also, Central Standard Time).  After finding our rooms and admiring the elaborate entry, we convened for a quick snack and to discuss tomorrow’s agenda for the Corporate Social Responsibility Conference.
