The Chinese Swine Study Team visited JBS United in Griggsville, Ill., to tour the facilities, eat lunch and hear from several people in the area. The team was welcomed by Illinois soybean leader Phil Bradshaw and the JBS United manager before having an Illinois pork lunch provided by JBS United. After lunch, several people spoke about the importance of agriculture in the area and the state of Illinois.
The facilities tour included walking around and learning about loading and unloading grain procedures. The team saw grain being loaded on a train and also walked through the animal nutrition processing facility located on the property. The team then drove to Bradshaw’s house, where several tractors where open for viewing and for taking pictures. They also saw the house where Bradshaw's pigs are housed. The team was welcomed at the house for light refreshments before leaving for the University of Illinois.
