Observations from Soy Ambassador Gary Berg

We took a bus to Centro de Arte in Guatemala today,a training center that works in the local community to provide technical and job training.  On the way, we saw living conditions that we all have seen on TV.  But to see it in person really takes you back and makes you feel blessed to live in America.

Once we got there, we watched them make soymilk from a SoyCow machine.  We also had lunch at the school, and were served food made from soy products.  The food was pretty good. We also had a soy cooking class after lunch.

In the afternoon we traveled to Fundaninas, a local orphanage for girls.  We got to meet the girls, as well as tour their school and sample the soy cookies they prepared for us.

Thursday, we are flying to Nicaragua for the second leg of the trip in Central America.
